A Christmas lighting company that morphed into A/V/L design?

In 2009, we purchased Distinctive Holiday Lighting to provide a little extra income. Soon after, we added wedding lighting and changed our name to Enlightened Events. It wasn't long until I started to realize that I already know the stuff for doing audio, video and lighting design and installation and added that to our repertoire.

We have since discontinued wedding lighting and now focus on audio, video, lighting and network design and installation. And we still do Christmas lights. In June 2017, Kyle Leonard became a Certified Technical Specialist. A designation that signifies expertise in audio and video communication and integration. We are also joined AVIXA, formerly InfoComm International. And in September of 2017, we added a new name, KOAT Services, which better signifies that we are doing more than events. Enlightened Events will still continue to focus on Christmas lights and temporary decorations.

A few of the reasons we became members of AVIXA, it is an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer Organization (ASD), InfoComm provides industry standards as the foundation for quality audiovisual systems. In addition, as an ANSI Accredited Certification Body, InfoComm offers the Certified Technology Specialist™ (CTS®) program — the only ANSI accredited audiovisual certification under the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024:2012.
